PDF Forge LiB started from a simple frustration: everyday PDF tasks - merging a couple of files, shrinking one that's too big to email, pulling a few pages out of a long report - kept requiring either a paid desktop app or a random website covered in ads and upload limits. We built PDF Forge LiB to be the tool we actually wanted to use ourselves: fast, free for the common cases, and straightforward about what it does with your files.
The PDF and image operations you run - compression, conversion, merging, and the rest - are handled by dedicated processing behind the scenes; nothing runs by manually reviewing your files. The AI summarizer tool specifically uses a language model to generate a summary of a document's text content when you use that feature - that's the one tool where an AI model reads your content, and it's opt-in by design: you only get an AI-generated summary when you specifically use that tool.
PDF Forge LiB is actively developed, not a finished product sitting still. Some tools are newer than others, and we're continuing to add coverage for less common file operations - if there's a PDF or image task you can't find a tool for, let us know; that kind of feedback directly shapes what we build next.
