This policy explains what happens to the files you upload to PDF Forge LiB and what other information we collect when you use the site. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate - if anything here is unclear, contact us and we'll clarify it.
When you use a tool - merge, split, compress, convert, protect, or any of the others - your file is uploaded to our servers only long enough to perform that specific operation and return the result to you. Consistent with what's stated on each tool page, uploaded and generated files are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours, whether or not you've downloaded the result. We don't review, read, or manually inspect the contents of files you process, and we don't use file contents to train any model or for any purpose beyond performing the operation you requested.
If you create an account and use a feature like file history, a record of the operation (file name, type of operation, timestamp) may be kept so you can find and re-download recent results - see "Account data" below for how to clear this.
If you create an account, we store:
You can review and delete your account data from your account settings at any time. Deleting your account removes this data from active use; residual copies may persist briefly in backups before being purged on our normal backup rotation schedule.
Like most websites, we use basic analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (which pages are visited, roughly how many people use each tool) and essential cookies to keep you signed in if you have an account. We don't use this data to identify what's inside the documents you process.
We show ads on some pages (primarily blog articles) through Google AdSense to help support running the site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This never involves the contents of files you upload or process - ad personalization is based on browsing behavior, not document contents, which we don't share with any advertiser.
If you're in the UK or European Economic Area, personalized-ad cookies only load after you actively consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit; declining still lets you use every tool on the site normally. You can see and control the ad-related data Google holds about you at Google Ads Settings, and read more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites that use our services.
Some features - such as connecting a cloud storage account to save results directly, or processing a donation - involve a third-party provider (for example, a cloud storage provider you explicitly connect, or a payment processor). These providers only receive the information necessary to perform that specific action, and are governed by their own privacy policies for data they handle directly.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect files and account data in transit and at rest, including the short, automatic deletion window described above. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so we'd rather be direct about that than make a claim we can't back up - we'd encourage avoiding uploading anything you consider highly sensitive to any web-based tool, this one included, without weighing that tradeoff yourself.
PDF Forge LiB isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
For any privacy question, or to request deletion of data we hold about you, reach out via our contact page.
